Polestar PilatesTeacher Training
This course offers comprehensive study of Pilates Reformer exercises, Polestar principles of movement, and teaching techniques. Divided into three levels, this program provides individuals with the opportunity to become knowledgeable Pilates instructors through both in-person sessions and online self-study. Participants will learn Reformer exercises, teaching skills, exercise setup techniques, the use of props, and the principles underlying Polestar’s approach to movement.
This course follows humanistic approach, focusing on individual needs and personalized instruction to foster a deep understanding of the mind-body connection. The course sets high standards in Pilates education, empowering instructors to deliver outstanding results to clients.
The Polestar Reformer training equips you with the skills to teach all the Reformer exercises. This teacher training utilises in-person & virtual asynchronous learning. All virtual asynchronous resources are available 24/7 to offer you opportunities to review and learn at your own pace and timing.
We will be using the Polestar Online platform to distribute information about the course in addition to the Reformer Course materials. You will be using Polestar Online to access the syllabus and calendar, read announcements, access all asynchronous material, access replays of synchronous sessions, submit assignments, and receive instructor feedback on all homework.
You are automatically enrolled in the online platform as soon as you pay for your course.
The general breakdown of the learning modes is as follows:
Virtual Asynchronous (Videos and materials on the Polestar online platform that you can watch in your own time):
- Lectures on teaching pedagogy
- Demonstrations of all the exercises of the teacher training repertoire
- Lectures on how to teach each exercise in the repertoire, including safety, setup and key points
In-Person:
- Live review of pedagogy lectures
- Practice teaching in a virtual environment
- Feedback loops with input from peers and teacher trainers
- Case study reviews
- Sequencing practice and session planning
- Review of practical application of exercises from home study
COURSE STRUCTURE
Level 1
In Level 1, participants embark on a transformative journey by gaining a comprehensive understanding of Pilates teaching. They explore Polestar’s unique Principles of movement through experiential Reformer classes, setting the stage for becoming inspiring and knowledgeable Pilates instructors. Sessions include round-robin teaching, feedback, and discussions to refine teaching abilities. Participants also learn about fitness screenings, class design, and effective Pilates instruction, ultimately reflecting on their progress and accomplishments as they prepare to advance to the next phase.
Level 2
Level 2 builds upon the foundation laid in Level 1, focusing on more advanced movements and techniques in the Reformer exercises. Participants engage in discussions on program design, receive feedback, and exchange insights with their peers. They explore the power of imagery in Pilates instruction and enhance their ability to communicate with clients through vivid imagery. The level also emphasizes tactile cueing, class design for specific populations, and further refinement of teaching techniques. Round-robin teaching, discussions, and feedback sessions allow participants to deepen their expertise in Pilates instruction, celebrating their growth before moving forward.
Level 3
Level 3 represents the final stage of the journey, where participants immerse themselves in detailed Reformer Level 3 classes, mastering advanced movements and techniques. They explore exercise themes across Levels 1-3, designing comprehensive Pilates sessions. The focus shifts to working with special populations, adapting instruction to meet diverse needs. Participants engage in breakout group activities to design classes tailored to specific activities or populations, receiving feedback to refine their teaching skills. Round-robin teaching, discussions, and peer collaboration further solidify participants’ expertise in Pilates instruction. The level concludes with reflection on achievements, closing discussions, and preparation for the final phase of the training program.

- Mentorship hours (360AED can be split between other members up to 4 people, if required)
- Renting the reformer in a studio for apprentice teaching (25AED per hour) can be in our studio or any other studio
- Observation hours (25AED per hour) can be in a studio or we will provide with the names of teachers in Pilates Anytime app to observe it online
