Dance Teacher
Dayana is a journalist, personal trainer and a mother of two, who has been traveling and moving with her family for the past 10 years. Her passion for dancing comes from her latin roots. She was born and raised in Venezuela and grew up dancing rhythms like salsa, merengue, bachata, tambores and many more.
Dayana started working with kids at the age of 15, when she was in charge of organizing and implementing activities for kids at a summer camp. At the same time she was involved in the girl scouts of Venezuela where she worked even more in her leadership capabilities .
She has been dancing her entire life, but started her education as a dancer at age 13, attending hip hop, street jazz and contemporary classes. Fast forward to her collage years, she was more into competitive aerobics and won second place at a state wide aerobics competition. While attending school, she started training at the gym for the first time and started a company that specialized in kid’s birthday parties, doing all of the logistics and animations.
When she moved to the United States in 2012, she put her career as a journalist on pause, and decided to fully commit to her passion for health and fitness. She got the education she needed from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and started working as a personal trainer, pre and post natal corrective exercise specialist and of course dancing as a Zumba instructor in many gyms across USA and also internationally. She has been able to successfully continue teaching and training her clients as part of her company Dayafitness LLC.
We are lucky to have her here in Abu Dhabi where she is back to teaching dance to little ones. She is leading “Dance around the world” where through games and dancing, she is teaching the kids about different cultures, and at the same time giving them new skills to develop and grow.
