Community yoga with Bodytree at Ripe market

Yoga in the great outdoors…

Bodytree is proud to provide a weekly community yoga class at Ripe Market Abu Dhabi. Join us in Umm al Emarat Park from 4:30 – 5:30pm every Saturday afternoon for a 60 minute, all levels, Vinyasa flow for women and men. Please bring your own mat!

Meet the instructor…

Sara walked into her first yoga class in New York City almost 15 years ago, not knowing how stepping onto a mat that day would set her on a new path. After many years as only a student, and with encouragement from some incredible teachers here in Abu Dhabi, she returned to New York to complete her Teacher Training at YogaWorks under the instruction of Jodie Rufty. The training encompassed yoga history and philosophy, anatomy, and detailed focus on an alignment-based, mindful asana practice.

Sara believes that the steady work we do during our physical yoga practice fundamentally impacts how we live when we are off of our mats. We work hard to build strength, flexibility, stamina, and self-awareness in our daily practice. We strive to break old patterns, becoming unstuck and then creating new, more thoughtful ones. Practicing with consistency and dedication, these things begin to spill over into our everyday lives. We become more patient, resilient, adaptive, open, and compassionate with ourselves and with others. We become more aware of how the mindfulness we cultivate in class enhances our ability to live more mindfully and joyfully in general.

Always a student herself, Sara continues to develop and grow. While continuously evolving her own yoga practice, she aims to bring what she learns directly to her teaching – always open to finding the very best ways to serve others as they move along their own yoga path.

What Sara says about the class…

We spend the hour moving and breathing through a mindful flow to build strength, flexibility, and balance. We will aim to clear out any stress or strain from the previous week, making ourselves bright and ready for the new week ahead. We will balance effort and ease, energy and relaxation. It is a perfect way to finish the weekend with fresh air and sunshine!
